AHERA Inspections & Re-Inspections
Importance of Inspection & Steps of Inspection Process:
- The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), enacted in 1986, requires all public and private schools (K-12) to inspect their buildings for asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and develop management plans to prevent exposure. AHERA inspections are critical for identifying asbestos risks, ensuring compliance with EPA regulations, and maintaining a safe learning environment.

2025 AHERA Asbestos Inspections:
- Regulatory Compliance: Schools must comply with AHERA’s inspection and re-inspection requirements to avoid fines and legal issues.
- Peace of Mind: A thorough inspection provides assurance that your facility is safe for students, teachers, and staff.
- Proactive Management: Identifying ACM early allows for proper maintenance or removal, reducing long-term costs.
- Health Protection**: Asbestos exposure can lead to serious conditions like mesothelioma and lung cancer. Regular inspections minimize these risks.
